Saltash is a town and civil parish in Southeast Cornwall. It faces Plymouth over the River Tamar and is the largest town within the East Cornwall area. It is known as the Gateway to Cornwall and the Lord of Trematon founded the market town of Saltash in the 12th Century.

Joining Saltash which is in Cornwall with Plymouth that is in Devon is the Tamar bridge. The Tamar Bridge was designed for vehicles and the Royal Albert Bridge for trains. This is the main train line that goes from Penzance up to London daily.

Being a large town it is very much a community run town with lots of successful festivals and charity events. These raise money for different charities and organisations, the main events are the Saltash Mayfair and Saltash Town Regatta.
